Happy Valley Traffic and Safety Procedures
- Use the correct drop off and pick up area. There are two designated drop off/pick up areas. Families coming from the DOWNTOWN area should use the semi-circular Husky Turnaround and families coming from UPPER HAPPY VALLEY should use the main school entrance. See map below.
- Use your Family Traffic sign. Your family traffic sign is on the back of this form. Please hold your sign as you enter the turnaround so traffic monitors can announce your arrival. Additional copies should be given to grandparents, nannies or friends if your child is picked up by others.
- Pick up Procedure. Upon dismissal children will remain seated and wait at the appropriate turnaround. Please pull as far forward as possible into a designated pick-up spot. Your child will gather their belongings and will be guided to your car. The student volunteers will open your car door. Children should not cross the parking lot without an adult in direct contact.
- Parking. If you plan on parking, please arrive by 8:15 am or 2:15 pm. Park in designated areas only.
- Crunch Time. Try to arrive early (8:15-ish) for “drive thru” drop-offs and a little late (2:40-ish) for speedy pick-ups. If you arrive close to 8:30 a.m. or 2:30 p.m., please be patient, stay in line and pull off the road as far as possible on Happy Valley while waiting. Please watch and stop for children, especially as you turn into the parking lots and at crosswalks.
-
Teach everyone the rules. Be sure your child knows where to wait for you. Tell anyone who takes your child to and from school about this name sign and our traffic and safety rules.
Thank you for your Cooperation and Attention to Safety
